No animated series is complete without a recognizable musical heart. For Ellie the Elephant, we found that heart in Phaedra Kwant. As a bassist, singer, and composer, she brought Ellie to life by writing and singing all 26 original songs.
In addition to the music, Phaedra also provides the voice-over for the series, giving Ellie's sympathetic and inclusive personality a voice that children embrace.
In the cinema film 'Ellie the Elephant – The Big Journey', her talent is likewise the driving force behind the viewer's emotional experience.

Musical Authority
Phaedra was one of the first female bassists in the Netherlands to graduate as a 'Master of Music' from the Conservatory of Amsterdam. In 2016, she won the poll for 'Best Jazz/Fusion bassist of the Benelux'.

She has worked with greats like Claudia de Breij, Veldhuis & Kemper, and Eric Vloeimans. Her international experience has taken her from Japan to America, where she was dubbed by the media as 'The Dutch Sting'.

As a principal subject teacher at various conservatories, she shares her passion for bass guitar and composition. This in-depth knowledge ensures that the audio of ToonHouse projects is of the highest technical level.
